Holiday Assistance
Heading away on holiday but still require care?
We all need a holiday sometimes, if we’re working, retired or even while receiving care, whether it’s to escape the city, simply unwind, enjoy a new adventure or to help recuperate.
At Athena Care, we understand that completely, especially if you’re in care, housebound and in need of time away to let the mind wander, relax, take in some fresh air, enjoy the sun or even attend your favourite artist in concert overseas.
At home or abroad
We’ve helped many clients over the years with holiday care assistance in the UK, around Europe and even further afield. Our care assistants are specially-trained and we pair those with the most relevant skill-sets to your care requirements and holiday plans. Our aim is to help you make the most of your time off while providing the best care possible. We’ll not only liaise closely with you but your family and doctors, too, in order to have the right care package in place before you head off.
While you’re away
While on holiday, we’ll assist with a number of duties and responsibilities. This will include:
- Helping plan your holiday ahead of time with your specific care needs in mind
- Assistance with mobility, in-flight care and general travel
- Facilitate social activities, excursions and day trips
- Administering medications and related care support
- General companionship support as required
If you or a loved-one are heading off on holiday and are in need of help while away, call Athena Care toll-free on 0800 234 6306 or email enquiries@athenacare.co.uk for more information.
University & Academic Support
University, Academic Support & Personal Care
Studying is stressful enough as it is, disabled or not. - Tuition, study skills, exams & library support
- Attending meetings & classes
- Mentoring
- Domestic help

Hourly care
What is hourly care support?
Often enough, our customers won’t be in need of full-time care depending on their circumstances, the amount of care they require, if families are also available to help and their situation overall.
When constant care isn’t required, we offer care hourly care packages at cost-effective rates for people across the UK, in the comfortable surroundings of their own homes, with specialist care assistants on hand who’re available to ‘top-up’ any current care support or provide supplementary assistance.
If an individual is semi-independent but requires help from time-to-time, hourly care can be of great additional help for the tasks, duties or situations when it’s harder to be alone. That could be going out shopping, meal preparation, tasks around the home, personal care, as companionship a few times a week or even as temporary stand-in if a regular carer is away. We also have trained staff to assist with more complex cases.
How does it work?
Our care assistants, support workers and nursing staff work with each customer to compile a bespoke, highly-personalised care programme for the periods during which they’re needed while still helping to maintain a client’s independence and choice.
We provide flexible hourly care services, both during the day and night time, whereby customers are able to pay for care services as required. Hourly care options are available as a regular service or on an ad hoc, once-off basis.
